Edenred Bulgaria collected BGN 29 500 for the pediatric department in Burgas

The charity relay run for companies Edenred RUN 2024 collected BGN 29 500 in support of the children's department at UMBAL-Burgas.

This year Edenred Bulgaria celebrated its “Idealday” on the 20^th of June by organizing the annual Edenred RUN.

Every year the Edenred group celebrates its Idealday. On this day each country in the group chooses causes and projects with a social focus to support. All employees of the group around the world unite around a socially useful cause in support of local communities. For another year, Edenred Bulgaria celebrated its Idealday by organizing Edenred RUN.

A record number of participants took part in the run - 50 companies, that formed 110 teams, with more than 500 participants. The event took place on June 20^th at 19:00 in Borisova gradina, Sofia. Each of the teams consisted of four people. Each of the participants ran 1.5 km twice.

For the first time this year, immediately before the main event, we also held a special run for children between the ages of 4-11.

Funds raised for the cause

The Edenred Bulgaria team, together with its customers, partners and employees, collected the sum of BGN 29 500.70 in support of the campaign:

• Amounts received via bank transfer for participation fee – BGN 28 700 excluding VAT
• Amount donated in cash during the event – BGN 800,70

With 100% of the collected amount, specialized medical equipment will be purchased for the pediatric department in UMBAL-Burgas. The department in this hospital is the only one on the territory of Burgas municipality that has specialists in pediatric cardiology and endocrinology.

The organization of the event, as well as the choice of the cause itself, are in partnership with 5KM RUN. Thank you for the impeccable organization! With its relay run for companies, Edenred Bulgaria for another year participated in the charity campaign "Donate your time to 5kmrun", which collected a total amount of BGN 49,900 for the cause.

On the 18th of July, the check from the campaign was symbolically handed over to UMBAL Burgas. The voucher was accepted by the head of the pediatrics department, Dr. Hripsime Kasparian, and Dr. Svetoslav Todorov, deputy director of the hospital. The equipment has already been purchased and will be used for the needs of the pediatrics departments at the hospital. Inhalers, manipulation couches, injectomats, specialized devices for measuring blood pressure with children's cuffs, stands for infusions, a patient monitor, an ECG device and venoscopes were purchased.

The teams were divided into three categories – men's, women's and mixed. In each of the categories, we broadcast 3 winning teams, respectively in first, second and third place. Here is the ranking itself:
